Town of Jackson Capital Improvement Project List – 2010

 

2010 Water System Improvements

The project consists of replacing old 4-inch water mains on Redmond Street, Cache Creek Drive and West Hall Street. The improvement will consist of the installation of approximately 3,350 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe, 40 water services, fire hydrants, valves, and other related appurtenances, including plant mix pavement street repairs.

 

Budge Drive Pump Station Pad

The project will include the removal of 230 cubic yards of embankment and the installation of 85-feet of retaining walls. This project is being completed to facilitate the future installation of a new water pump station.

 

Sewer Treatment Plant Energy Update

The Town has hired an Energy Service Company through Wyoming Business Council’s Energy Conservation Improvement Program (WYECIP) for energy efficiency upgrades to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The purpose is to replace aging aerators, jockey blower pumps, and install demand oxygen sensors, which will significantly reduce annual maintenance and operating costs at the treatment facility.

Purchase and Installation of New Sewer Inspection Camera

The Town will be upgrading its existing sewer mainline inspection camera. This will include the purchase of the camera, installation of the equipment within the service truck and training on the new computer systems.

 

2010 Sewer System Improvements

The 2010 Sewer Improvement Project consists of the replacement of deteriorating sewer mains within four East Jackson Alleyways. The improvements will include the installation of approximately 2700 linear feet of 8-inch PVC pipe, manholes, sewer service lines, sewer service connections, and other related appurtenances, including plant mix pavement and gravel surface repairs.

 

Karns Meadow Wetland and Stormwater Treatment Project

The Town of Jackson intends to construct a wetland-based stormwater treatment system and habitat enhancements that will benefit aquatic resources in Flat Creek, wildlife habitat in Karns Meadow, and the people of the Town of Jackson, Teton County and State of Wyoming. The Project goals are as follows: 1) Significantly improve the chemical and physical quality of urban runoff entering Flat Creek at the Karns Meadow property, focusing on the most treatable types of runoff 2) Provide net enhancement of habitat quality on the Karns Meadow property east of Flat Creek. 3) Develop a naturalistic, aesthetically attractive design.

The project will include the installation of additional stormwater piping and stormwater flow control systems, development of sediment forbays, grading of the meadow to create sediment ponds and flow channels, creating of additional water rights diversions and re-vegetation of the meadow.

 

Street Patching (Spring and Fall)

Annual completion of plant mix pavement street patching and creak sealing throughout various locations in the Town of Jackson.

 

Flat Creek Fish Habitat and Frazzle Ice Project

The project consists of enhancements within Flat Creek, from the private bridge south of Virginian Lane to the pedestrian bridge at Crabtree Lane. The work will include rock check dams, pool excavations, root-ball installations, enhanced fish habitat areas and stream bank enhancements.

 

New Water Tank

This project involves replacement of the existing subsurface 80,000 gallon tank in the south east area of Town and provides water storage for approximately 70 lots within the Snow King Estates pressure zone. The approximate age of the existing tank is 30 years. The tank has been examined and is showing signs of deterioration with potential leaks at the majority of the metal seams. To provide a standard DEQ fire suppression supply the Town is replacing and enlarging the tank to 130,000-gallon tank.

 

Well 5 Solar Panels Project

The Town will be installing Solar Electric Photovoltaic panels in the area of Well #5 located within the Karns Meadow. The total amount of panels to be installed is 24.89 kW.

 

 Treatment Plant Solar Panel Project

The Town is using Clean Water State Revolving Fund Grant (CWSRF) funds to help complete the installation of a 170 kW photovoltaic system at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The new project will increase the existing Photovoltaic farm at the treatment Plant to 197 kW.

 

Town Buildings Energy Project

The project shall be using the State of Wyoming Energy Office Facility Energy Efficiency Retrofit program to retrofit Town and a few Joint Departments buildings. The facilities for the selected for energy retrofits include: Town Hall, Public Works Shops, Recreation Center and the Snow King Ice Arena Center. The types of items we will perform are replacing old heating units with new efficient units, HVAC system, replace old garage doors, replace windows, field lighting system at Powderhorn Park, replace Town streetlights with LED lighting, insulate water hear w/R11, replace air handling unit, install auto lighting controls in offices.
